Recession? What recession? Apparently the fine folks at Tycoon Percussion have been turning lemons into lemonade for the past couple years, because while the market has contracted for most companies during the economic downturn, Tycoon’s business has boomed. “Despite a soft economy we’ve been able to increase our market share by offering our customers a wide selection of high quality instruments at affordable price points,” explains Tycoon’s General Manager, Quincy Yu. Tycoon’s growth has been dramatic enough to force the company to find new, bigger digs for its U.S. operation, which will now be headquartered at 1344 Parkside Place, Ontario, California 91761. The new facility features additional office space for management, sales, marketing, and artist relations, a fully-stocked showroom and a large, state-of-the-art warehouse. Tycoon Percussion is currently organizing a special Grand Opening celebration and reception for artists, dealers, and the media (that’s us!) at the new U.S. headquarters prior to the NAMM Show in January 2011. Details will be released as they become available.
