The door just keeps swinging wide in the endless series of drummers quitting bands. We just heard that, after being mysteriously absent during Wavves October gigs, Billy Hayes (featured in the video above) has made it offical – he’s gone for good. Hayes will be replaced by former Mae Shi and current Signals drummer Jacob Cooper, who filled in during Wavves’ October tour. We’ve also learned that German metal merchants Sodom have parted ways with drummer Konrad “Bobby” Schottkowski, who joined the band earlir this year. In a refreshing move, the remaining bandmembers didn’t resort to the usual folderol about “mutually agreeing” to the change. Instead, they issued a frank statement that spelled out how the band’s fouding bassist, Tom Angelripper, had “personal and private problems” with their ex-drummer. Word: Don’t mess with anyone named Angelripper.
