25 Years Of Concert And Band Percussion In The U.S.
By Andy Doerschuk Published July 22, 2009It's not easy to squeeze 25 candles on the birthday cake, but Yamaha Percussion will try its darnedest this year as the company celebrates a quarter century as a mover and shaker in the U.S. concert and marching band market.
Yamaha began serving American drummers and percussionists back in 1984 with a full range of instruments, including student percussion kits, bells, vibraphones, marimbas, timpani, concert bass drums, concert snare drums, concert toms, chimes, glockenspiels, marching percussion instruments, carriers stands, drum covers, and various percussion accessories.
To commemorate the anniversary, Yamaha will launch a website later this year celebrating the rich heritage of Yamaha Percussion. A dedicatory 25th anniversary banner can currently be seen all over the country at national percussion events, parades, trade shows, and Sounds Of Summer camps. And Yamaha is highlighting the top 25 moments in Yamaha Percussion on its Facebook page and on Twitter.
