Zach Hill To Release New Solo Album In October

By Andy DoerschukPublished on July 27, 2010

Look for another dose of noise collages when Hella drummer Zach Hill unleashes his latest solo effort, Face Tat, in October. The album will feature a hefty list of guests artists, including Devendra Banhart, Guillermo Scott Herren (Prefuse 73), Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Carson McWhirter (Hella), Nick Reinhart (Tera Melos, Bygones), and Robby Moncrieff (Raleigh Moncrieff).

Hill explained his songwriting approach to Anti Music thusly: “There's an emphasis on experimenting with 'destroying' sounds so that the source of the melody, rhythms, vocals, etc., is not recognizable or traceable, and then building these things into abstract forms of pop music with conventional structures.” If you’ve never heard his solo work, you’re in for an explosive sonic experience. Ka-boom.
