Zildjian Presents Ringo With 70th Birthday Present

By Andy Doerschuk Published August 6, 2010

On June 29, 2010, one week before his 70th birthday, Ringo Starr And His All Star Band performed in Boston and John DeChristopher — Zildjian’s vice president, artist relations and event marketing worldwide and longtime FOR (friend of Ringo) — was there to present the music legend with a birthday gift on behalf of the Zildjian Company - a pair of Tiffany silver cufflinks.

“Ringo was very gracious and genuinely appreciated us acknowledging his milestone birthday,” DeChristopher says. “When he saw the Tiffany box he gave me a big smile, which was a huge relief — I mean… what do you give a ‘Beatle’ for his birthday? One of the highlights of the day was being there for sound check and watching Ringo show Gregg [Bissonette] the drum intro to “Come Together” and just standing next to the guy who is the reason I and millions of others became a drummer.”
