Evans Release Exclusive Calf-Tone Press Kit
Evans went all out in an effort to launch the new Evans '56 Calftone line. Two boxes arrived in our offices looking like extremely thick pieces, but with the Evans logo on them. Inside we were more than a little surprised to find the following:
- Evans Calftone Sticks
- A 22" bass drum head in Evans Calftone
- A tan leather-wrapped flask
- A "vintage" t-shirt
- A beanie with the words "No pomade, no worries" on the box
- A vintage Army surplus style stickbag.
They also included a letter on what looked like yellowed parchment detailing the Evans '56 Calftone. Of course what is neat is that the heads are getting great preliminary reviews. Look for a full test in DRUM! Magazine shortly.

Both Drum Ambition and SDDL are proud to be Official Mike Dolbear Affiliated Drum Schools, of which Drum Ambition is currently the only Approved Online Platform.
When the organizers of the 2012 London Olympics found themselves needing 1000 drummers to play a choreographed piece for the Opening Ceremony, Mike was the man entrusted with the responsibility. He went on to coordinate drumming showpieces for the European Champions League Final (The largest European soccer tournament at club level), and was personally selected by movie score Composer HansZimmer to work on his London production of "Hans Zimmer Revealed".
If you do not live in San Diego and are not able to attend the events, look out for some video highlights and interviews on Drum Ambition in October. These events are presented in partnership with our friends at Yamaha Drums, Vic Firth, Zildjian and Evans Drumheads.
