Ringo Honored for His Artwork

Even at the age of 73, Beatles drummer Ringo Starr continues to receive accolades for his artistic efforts. But this time, rather than being honored for his classic grooves and fills, Starr was appointed a Commander Of France’s Order Of Arts And Letters for his graphic art creations.

French Ambassador Hugues Moret presented the award in front of the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco, where two of Starr’s paintings were hanging during an exhibit featuring works by fellow celebrities, including Bob Dylan and Starr’s former bandmate Paul McCartney. “I’m a drummer, but I can do other things – like painting, living, breathing,” Starr said during the ceremony.
