Royal Marines Corps Of Drums Breaks Record
Last Wednesday, the Royal Marines Corps of Drums broke the Guinness World Record for the longest group drum roll ever recorded. Forty Royal Marines buglers from the Royal Marines School of Music and bands from HMS Collingwood in Fareham, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Scotland performed a drum roll lasting 64 hours. Each drummer then took turns playing for 15 minutes until Saturday morning.
Tom Hardy and Harrison Ford launched the event, which was part of a year of celebrations to mark the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines. The event helped to raise money for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, which supports families.
